So I feel as if I hit the jackpot yesterday. A trip to Target to buy some replacement forks (which started disappearing conveniently when my husband started taking his lunch to work) turned into saving dollars on two yoga mats (to complement our Living Social deal for hot yoga lessons for almost 70% off) and a multitude of Halloween treats with expiration dates that do not expire for almost a year from now. $0.28 boxes of Count Chocula, $0.39 Halloween funfetti icing, and $0.48 Halloween funfetti cake batter!
I bought my cake pop maker almost two years ago with high expectations, I moved it three times over last summer, and final open the box last night. As you can see, the cake pops didn't necessarily turn out round. The directions stated that one must take a wooden or plastic spoon to remove the cake balls... which causes them to flatten on one side. Then if you don't have a rounded place to put them, as they cool, they also flatten on the side that they are laid. Still good, easy to make, clean up was a pain. I hate to say this, but I'd rather just make a standard cake and leave the cake pops up to Starbucks.
