Like I mentioned before, I designed a lot of my wedding. All of my invitations, cards, menus, programs... I merely couldn't find what I liked for the price people were charging. I had originally found a design that was a custom made online save the dates and loved the concept and theme: as many random facts about the couple as possible. After weeks of researching, I came to the conclusion that I would just make my own and it was far easier! From there, I found it easier just to design the rest as well.
Finding local print shops, over big boxed printing stores like Staples, was the key to keep my cost down for these. I ended up printing my own menus, save the dates, invitations, programs, everything. Our menu was simple :: BBQ from one of our favorite smokehouses in St. Louis. Even with the two hour commute to my small hometown in Southern Illinois, their catering prices were the cheapest around! With some help from friends and family, we were able to keep our costs lower than anybody else I know in regards of wedding food.
