#BLOGTOBER + #WRITE31DAYS
Thursday, October 1 :: Introduce yourself!
I really think that blogtober is going to be beyond challenging for me. Who am I?
I'm Heather Bahorich.
Married. 29. Wife. Daughter. Sister.
Short, spunky, shy, speak-my-mind, blonde, quiet, introvert, talks a lot, external processor... who loves to read in the busiest rooms. To be the real me, it takes a lot of intentionality and planning. Partly because I am a planner. I rest when things are planned. But on the other hand, if I just let life happen around me, I would rather adhere to the schedule that life gives me. Not necessarily the schedule that allows for creative, thought, community, and Jesus.
I love Disney and summertime and Christmas and white chocolate mocha lattes.
I would much rather prefer to shop for clothing 100% online but walk around Target aimless for hours. I enjoy creating things to see the finished product -- like DIY and graphic design and photography and blogging. I love reading, but typically only stick to non-fiction short story formats, like Shauna Neiquist or Tsh Oxenreider or Donald Miller.
I help people learn for a living. I teach. I create e-learning courses. I coach managers how to be better managers. I inspire employees of companies to aim for higher and better. For themselves primarily... and the company usually wins as well. I love my career even if my path was not so typical.
I would rather fill my home with a dozen people making messes through laughter, food, and wine than be away from a tidy, well put-together house for 12 hours. I love having those people that know where the dishes are and feel free to make themselves a drink than parade a show for them throughout my gray-colored walls. I love the smells of food cooking on the stove and a freshly lit candle. I desire a home that has more subtle tunes than the noises of a 5 o'clock news report.
However, I am a homebody that loves to travel. I enjoy people of all kinds. The more I learn about others, the more I want to know. And with that, I am antsy as soon as the airplane wheels touch the ground in St. Louis, back at home, to plan my new adventure. I see adventure everywhere, and my lovely husband, Duston, and I explore at every possible chance. A festival here, a weekend trip there, an evening discovering bbq and ice cream in the city... adventure is everywhere and in everything. It's reminding ourselves of that. It's reminding ourselves about the world that God allows us to walk in every day.
He did not design it to be boring.
How about you? Introduce yourself.
