Happy Friday ya'll! I'm officially half way through my pregnancy (20 week #bumpdate coming Monday) and I thought I would take a moment to share with you my absolute favorite apps that I have been using. I know there are a lot of recommendations out there. It takes a week or two to figure out what you like and what you use. I would love to hear what your favorites are as well!
1. Glow Nurture
I used Glow pre-pregnancy to track all of my stats, so it was such an easy transition to the Glow Nurture app. It keeps track of my baby's fruit size, weight, appointments, and my daily health awarenesses and insights. I can record if I took my vitamin (reminder included), completed my keels, weight, sleep, and general preggo symptoms. This is great for those appointments when the doctor asks if you have been experiencing this or that and you can't remember a darn thing. My favorite part is that it has an option to invite your spouse to join in. Dusty downloaded the app and can read through the many of articles and keep me on top of logging my exercise, water intake, etc. It's great to have him involved!
I'm a Jawbone Up wearer. I love it. Working from home, my daily steps have decreased A LOT. I aim for 8,000 a day... knowing I should really be getting 10,000. However, if I am not careful or paying attention, I won't move from my office desk and only find myself stepping about 1,500 day! Not enough to keep this girl healthy throughout her pregnancy!
My girlfriends and I also have been doing step duals to make sure we get at least our 10,000 steps in a day and I love to tracking if I am getting enough (or too much sleep). Best of all? The information that it tracks syncs to my Nurture app so I do not have to go in and manually log my sleep and exercise. It's great!
3. Tone It Up
Confession. I do not work out every day. Of course I don't. Life is busy and although I would love to have the healthiest pregnancy ever, it just doesn't happen. Combine that with the frigid cold weather and I do not want to move out of my fuzzy slippers and blanket some days. The Tone It Up app has really kept me motivated. Specifically, there is a group just for TIU Pregnant gals that shares how they modify the daily workout routines and healthy meal ideas. The app is new but I have been using the website for years. Their weekly workout guides are a great way to make sure that you are hitting multiple sections of your body, and not just your core, butt, arms, etc. Plus it gets me beyond the treadmill and allows me to do quick 20 minute workouts from my living room!
4. Headspace
Telling a high energy pregnancy girl not to be stressed is like trying to kill a fire with more gasoline. It does not work. Emotions are obviously running high and I kind of do best under a lot of work, to-dos, and motion. Stress is just a part of it. Headspace has been keeping me centered. Ten minutes a day of relaxation, breathing, and meditation has really kept me from some irrational pregnancy moments and I really believe it's helping the baby too.
5. Babyli.st
I know it is a little early to complete a baby registry, but as things have came up and I find things I like or get recommended the best "whatever", I needed a place to save them. Babyli.st is such a great baby registry option for those non-traditional items. I love me some Target things, but not everything I want for the baby is from there... I like small shops, local items as well. That's where Babyli.st comes in handy. I can save anything and everything with direct links for my shower from Instagram, Etsy, and websites along with Target, Walmart or wherever.
