Thank you, Prims and Proper, for sponsoring this post, part of the 2017 Shop Small Spring series. I was selected for this opportunity by Prims and Proper; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
Although Easter is later this year, it has really kind of crept up on me. Don't get me wrong, I bought Ollie's Easter basket months before he was born (clearance last year) and have been planning and plotting his goodies for months. But now that it is here, I cannot wait to show you all of his goodies!
One of my favorite things this year in his basket are these adorable fabric carrots by Prims and Proper! With the Montessori play in mind, I wanted to make sure that Ollie had some toys that would grow with him into his toddler years. We really want to emphasize the importance of good food and cooking. As I start collecting fabric food for him to play with, my hopes that he will have a variety of strong bright colors to play with. We can later use the food for sorting, pretend baking and gardening, and more!
I also love that they are mutli-purpose! They would also look adorable as a bowl filler or Easter table decoration. So until Ollie is through the everything-goes-in-my-mouth stage, these will be a perfect decoration for the spring months!
Owner of Prims and Proper, Nancy, has filled her shop with tons of homemade goodies from dog collars, placemats, magnetic letters, holiday banners, baby bibs, fabric pumpkins, tooth fairy pillows, and so much more! Each displays the best handmade quality a girl could ask for and each design is just so cute.
And something else? Nancy has offer you 10% off any of her products in her shop with an order over $5 with the code "BAHORICHABODE"! The coupon expires June 15th so don't wait to order something for Mother's Day or a housewarming gift for your friends. Personally, I'm thinking ahead to fall and looking at these fabric pumpkins because they are just adorable!
Here is a little bit more about Nancy, the owner of Prims and Proper:
How did you get your shop started?
A friend of mine told me about Etsy and encouraged me to list one of my pillows. I listed one item and got discouraged because it did not sell immediately. I then read everything I could about listing, selling and making my items easy to find. It was definitely a lot of trial and error, but it was very much worth it.
What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
Balancing filling orders with my job as a Pediatric Nurse as well as having a life. I am very Type A and a perfectionist. I never want to disappoint a customer so I put a lot of pressure on myself to make everything perfect.
What is one thing unique about you?
I am very good with color and putting different fabrics together. I love to decorate and have had my home featured in a local magazine.
What is the best part of owning a shop?
Knowing that items I make are being used around the world. How cool would it be to be in a foreign country and see a dog wearing one of my handmade collars!?
How did you get your shop name?
I love primitive decor as well as feminine, french country decor. I felt "Prims and Proper" really reflected that style.
What is one way that you keep organized?
I am a list maker. I write everything down and get a lot of satisfaction crossing out items I have finished.
How do you balance family life and work life?
I am extremely organized. I will sacrifice sleep to sew and fulfill orders.
