Intentional Home Decor

Thank you, Grace for Grace, for sponsoring this post, Intentional Home Decor. I was selected for this opportunity by Grace for Grace; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Although it feels like we have been in our home forever, honestly, it's only been two short years. In those two years, we have remodeled 85% of our home from top to bottom. We have travelled a lot. Oh, and we welcomed baby Ollie in our lives. It has been a busy two years to be frank.

Now that we are settling a bit, I am still trying to get our decor under control in our home. I have managed to create quite a collection in our spare bedroom of great items that I have found on clearance over the past 24 months, but have not found a perfect place for each item just yet. I have most recently been taking each room bit by bit and seeing what needs to be done to make sure they are "completed".

One thing that's been consistent throughout our home is the intentionality of our decor. Yes, it is a bit Hobby Lobby-inspired. Yes, the majority of it came from a clearance end cap at Target. And yes, I would love it if Joanna Gaines walked in my front door and adored my style (since I feel like she's my inspiration for everything). However, as I am placing things around our home, I want it tell a great story of our family, what we believe in, and where we would like to go. I want the essence of our walls to tell our guests who the Bahorich's are.

So when I stumbled upon these adorable hand-lettered wooden hymn signs by Grace for Grace, I knew that their work would be ideal for our home. Each sign is personally designed by couple, Tyler and Jordan, who love God and people. They love showing their love through their beautiful handmade crafts to brighten homes all over the country. They initially started their business to help pay for their wedding and are loving every second of it.

We chose "Bind My Wandering Heart to Thee" as it is one of my favorite hymns. If you know me well enough, I have a deep love for David Crowder and his music. I am so thankful for his commitment to sharing the Gospel through his songs. I was introduced to this hymn through his music (not a traditional hymnal at church like one would think) and have loved it ever since.

It's a great reminder to us as we try to be intentional in our lives and live out the Gospel that we may (and probably will stray); however, our prayer has to be to bind our wandering hearts to our Lord. This piece of decor is so important for me to see on a daily basis, as well as a great reminder to our guests that we host often. I just love it.

Tyler and Jordan can design any hymn, which is great for you to be intentional with your home decor. They hand write the portion of the hymn that you love over the piece of music it belong to. How cool!

I cannot wait to share an opportunity with you to get one of these for your own home. Hop over to my Instagram page in the next few days to find out more about our giveaway with Grace for Grace!

Here is a little bit more about Tyler and Jordan, the owners of Grace for Grace:

How did you get your shop started?
Tyler and I have been together for almost 2 years, and we actually started our shop by making each other crafts for holidays/anniversaries. We both love crafting and noticed that our friends and families were interested in the things we were making, and it has turned into a really fun way to raise money for our wedding.

What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
Since Tyler and I are both very involved in church, work, and school, it's really hard for us to find time to work on these crafts together. Tyler feels bad if I do most of the work and vice versa, so we try to do as many of them together as we can.

What is one thing unique about you?
All of our skills are completely self-taught, so we are constantly growing and improving.

What is the best part of owning a shop?
We have a lot of fun creating these crafts, so it's awesome to be able to raise money for our wedding by spending time together and doing what we love.

How did you get your shop name?
We knew that we wanted our shop name to reflect our love for God, and Tyler suggested GraceforGraceShop based on John 1:16. God loves us SO much that He shows us continuous grace, and we like to try to share His love with others.

What is one way that you keep organized?
It's a little tricky sometimes since we receive through a few different platforms, but we keep all of them on a Google Doc that we update frequently.

How do you balance family life and work life?
Thankfully, our family life overlaps with our work life because we craft together and often employ the help of our family members.

xoxo, Heather
