In the past year, the Bahorich household has really been focusing on getting rid of the toxins in our home. It's honestly amazing to me as I have learn about essential oils how many toxins and chemicals we introduce to our family each and every day specifically through our bathroom products.

This is all very disturbing to the endocrine system and tons of these chemicals are known carcinogens. I used to be a shrugger. “Oh well, we’re all going to die at some point!” But not anymore. I choose better for my family.

Good news is that one easy way to get rid of these toxins is through essential oils. You know I'm an essential oil lover so I won't go on and on about these; however, another way is with Desert Essence hair products!

I've honestly tried a lot of shampoos since ridding the toxins from our home from other brands to homemade ones, but I had never been able to find anything that I liked. With my postpartum hair, breakage is a real issue so I was so excited to see that their Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner is infused with a unique blend of Country Life brand Maxi-Hair plus Biotin, which is a formula made with Keratin and Pro-Vitamin B made specifically to reduce hair breakage, possibly by 61%. The Anti-Breakage products are also rich in botanical oils, radish seed extract for shine, jojoba oil and coconut oil to fortify hair cuticles, and shea butter to detangle hair.

Many shampoos that do not have toxins or extra chemicals don't really lather much and are very watery, because some of those chemicals added into our daily store-bought shampoos creates those suds and bubbles. So I was really expecting the same out of the Anti-Breakage Shampoo; however, that is not the case at all! It really gave a good clean lather that made my hair feel strong. The Anti-Breakage Conditioner is thick but easy to apply through the hair and it leaves no residue or stickiness behind. Both were easy to wash out and had a light scent that reminds me of aloe and apple cider vinegar, leaving my hair soft and strong.

I have not yet tried out the Anti-Breakage Mask, because I'm saving this for those wintery months of dry midwestern air; however, I am so excited about this. The scent is light, the texture rich but silky and easy to work with.

Overall, I have been really happy with my experience with Desert Essence.
