Living in the Midwest, allergies get me every time. There isn't really a season change that goes by where I forgot about my seasonal allergies. They are so sensitive to the changing seasons, pollen, ragweed, and so so much more.
Our marriage anniversary is coming up this weekend, and one thing that reminds me every year of our wedding day is the blooming ragweed that is every where right now. Weird, right? But I remember adoring our wedding pictures as they were getting taken. These amazing, bright, colorful yellow flowers that complimented my bridesmaids' dresses and shoes. The deep richness of their bloom that made our groomsmen's pocket squares pop. We were so ecstatic to find that field that day.
And then it happened... allergies happened. And about three days into our honeymoon, we were both so sick that we could not breathe, could not see, and felt like we were going to die due to our allergies.
Come to find out, we are both highly allergic to ragweed, and thankfully, we can have a really good laugh about it these days. However, back then, I wish I would have known about Similasan seasonal relief products.
Thank you, Similasan, for sponsoring this post, How I Handle Midwest Allergies. I was selected for this opportunity by Similasan with collaboration of Moms Meet; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. I'm also not a doctor. These are just my experiences. If you have been around for even just a little bit, you know that the Bahorich household is all about natural products and remedies, so when I heard about the chance to try out Similasan's products, I immediately jumped on board. Similasan has been making remedies since 1980 with natural active ingredients. Their goal is to provide temporary symptomatic relief to your eyes, ears, nose, head, chest, and more. They do this by stimulating the body’s natural defenses, supporting our built in immune systems.
Specifically, Similasan Allergy Eye Relief is one such product that we will be using in our home a lot over the coming weeks. I'm so thankful that Similasan provided us with 4 bottles of the Allergy Eye Relief eye drops so we each can have our own bottle as it is never recommended to share eye drops as contamination can then spread.
The eye relief drops and many other products made by Similasan are made in Switzerland, at Similasan’s state of the art facility located near the Swiss Alps. It is in that facility the company formulates and produces most of its 190 popular remedies for children and adults, including not only eye care but also cough and cold, ear care, nasal allergies, and much more. I additionally love transparency in a company, and I believe it is awesome that the company has a video on its site that lets you take a look behind the scenes.
Similasan Allergy Eye Relief is not only formulated with natural active ingredients, but it is also non-GMO project verified! This simply means that it made without any GMO ingredients, gluten-free, and contains no antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, or other harsh chemicals! Instead, the natural active ingredients engage the body’s own immune system for it to help fight allergies. Because the ingredients are natural, the product can be used as often and as much as needed without any known side effects.
The two natural active ingredients are actually flowers themselves, Eyebright and Sabadilla. Eyebright (Euphrasia) is intended to temporarily relieve minor symptoms such as a thick mucus and/or watery discharge, redness, and swelling of the eyelid. Sabadilla is intended to temporarily relieve minor symptoms such as watering eyes and eyelid redness. I love using God's given plants to help us in giving us relief!
Overall, Similasan Allergy Eye Relief is a great product and we were very happy with the outcome and the fact that the ingredients are made with natural active ingredients and not made with harsh chemicals!
