Working from home has a bajillion benefits. I could list reason upon reason why I may never go into an office every again. Most days you can now find me on my front porch typing away in the summer heat. Occasionally, I do have to take a conference call inside my dark air conditioned office but honestly, each day I opt for the outdoors more and more.
I was thinking about my perfectly packed series this week and then instantly thought of my neighbor's pool. Who doesn't love a neighbor with a pool? Deep down I would prefer my own out my backdoor with several acres of land, but since I live in suburbia, I will be okay with my neighbor's.
Having a pool so close also is an added benefit of working from home. Although I would like to tell you that I successfully take conference calls while laying on a giant inflatable donut (which I totally own), but I don't. I have however managed to take a quick swim instead of my morning gym session or a dip at night once I grab Ollie from the sitter's. It is so nice to be able to jump over there really quick, hang out with my kiddo and then return to email while prepping for dinner once Dusty gets home to help with Ollie. Again, I love working from home.
Because I don't have a pool right outside my backdoor, I have found myself a great pool bag to keep stocked. This avoids me rushing around at the last minute trying to make sure I remember everything for the pool when I am going for a "quick" dip and it is great to have everything just ready to go.
I also keep this bag in my car over the weekends. We have a lot of friends that live 30+ minutes from our home, and I hate not being able to be prepared if I am out at a church event or somebody's home for dinner. It is usually not practical for us to join in on a last minute pool or splash pad run if we have to drive an hour round trip. Having these things on hand is essential for us to stay ready for anything.
So today I'm going to unpack my pool bag, dump everything out, and show you what I keep in there. This post is third in my Perfectly Packed series. Be sure to check out my other posts in the series as they are posted throughout the coming weeks!
Now for our supplies. Here's a full list of everything in my pool bag:
