My parents came to visit a few weeks ago and asked the kids what they wanted for a morning breakfast treat. "Lucky Charms donuts!" yelled Ollie. I mean, that sounded amazing and I value his creativity more than I can express in text; however, the heartbreak that came soon after was so sad. "They don't make Lucky Charm donuts, buddy," I told him. And then, a day later I found this inspiration over on The Mama Notes blog. Nothing could stop me from helping my little boy's dreams come true.
The Mama Notes made vegan donuts that you can find over on her blog, but I opted to snag donuts from our Wal-Mart bakery. I would have chose to pick up vanilla cake donuts, but my 9:00pm Wal-Mart run only found day-old clearance donuts. So plan accordingly! It truly worked for us, but ours already came with a light glaze and that made them extra sweet. Add that with some store bought cream cheese icing and a box of Lucky Charms and we had the best Saturday morning!
