Similar to wine grapes, the variety in combination with the growing location attributes (such as the soil and elevation). This can lead to berries of vastly different color, taste and minerals. Sambucol Elderberry chose to use only the premium Haschberg variety of European black elderberries. These berries, Sambucus Nigra, to make every Sambucol product.
And just like our essential oils, we are picky on what we put into our bodies. So when I learned that the cultivation process from start to finish was important to Sambucol, my ears perked up! I learned that they source all of our elderberries from farms that have been growing and perfecting the berries for generations. That's huge!
