Valentine's Day Snack Board with LOVE CORN

I am really excited to be sharing how to make a family friendly charcuterie snack board with y’all today! I love creating these as easy kid’s meals, for our friends and family, and special events. They are easy, simple, minimize dishes, and the kids truly believe they are getting something special like treat! I got some requests and questions about how I create my snack boards, so I wanted to share more about my process and the things I use.

With Valentine's Day coming up this week, I took a bit of a twist on this toddler friendly snack board.

First, grab your board!

I have a bunch of different cutting board and plate sizes I use for my charcuterie & snack boards. It does not necessarily matter how many or what sizes you have. This will differ for your family from mine; however, the key is to have a couple different sizes on hand to match the occasion when it comes to size!

I personally have a few holiday-themed ones; however, this is one of them that I use the most –– just a standard serving platter from Target!

Second, gather your snacks!

How do you know what to include in your charcuterie snack board? Well honestly, it all comes down to preference and event. Since I make most of our boards for our family, they have to be toddler and kid friendly. Most of our food is already “kid friendly” since my toddlers are in the prime snacking stage. Our snacks typically come from Aldi and range from giant bags of snacks to the individual sizes that are great for lunch boxes.

When it comes to building your snack board, I essentially go “shopping” in the pantry & fridge and see what I feel like putting together for them based on what’s available at home and what time of the day it is. We range from breakfast boards, afternoon snack boards, dinner "picnic" boards, and more! It is really based on the occasion.

What's my favorite?

For the basic breakdown of what I like to include on a typical board it’s kind of similar to what you should have on your plate: proteins, grain, fruit, veggies and dairy.

Some of our favorites:

  • Meat: summer sausage, pepperoni, deli turkey, deli ham
  • Nuts: mixed nuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts
  • Grains: Ritz, saltines, pretzels, veggie straws, animal crackers, graham crackers
  • Fruit: apples, clementines, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, dried fruits (raisins, craisins, apricots)
  • Veggies: carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes
  • Dairy: cheese, yogurt

My Valentine's Day Snack Board

You'll see some of our favorites in my Valentine's Day snack board below. I snagged some iced Animal Crackers at the store as a treat because of the pink icing, piled on some marshmallows, chocolate covered raisins, raisins, and our new favorite, LOVE CORN.

Thank you, LOVE CORN, for sponsoring this post, Valentine's Day Snack Board with LOVE CORN. I was selected for this opportunity by LOVE CORN with collaboration of Moms Meet; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Our Secret Ingredient

Ever heard of LOVE CORN? They are delicious, savory, and crunchy corn kernels that are packed with flavor and loved by every age in our household. We really love putting them on our snack boards because they are made with plant-based ingredients, and are vegan, gluten free, Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher, and sugar free. LOVE CORN is essentially a healthier alternative to chips, pretzels, crackers, and corn nuts. They come in four flavors including Sea Salt, BBQ, Habanero, and Salt & Vinegar.

We first received LOVE CORN with a collaboration with Moms Meet, and instantly fell in love! We have now tried all four flavors, with BBQ being our favorite. LOVE CORN is a great-tasting, crunchy addition to salads, soups, or cheese boards and make a great party snack and pair well with beer and wine.
