Our Favorite Rides at Walt Disney World for Toddlers

I hear it often –– Can my toddler ride a lot at Disney World? It's the number one reason people don't think they should take their young children. Well, I'm here to tell you "yes, there are so many great rides at Disney World for toddlers!" I'm ready to showcase to you today the ones I picked that are perfect for the whole family; they’re easy-going and fun. There are no scary elements and the dark rides are good fun for everyone. These are a safe bet for anyone of any age to go on and none of them have any height requirements.

  1. Peter Pan’s Flight. Location: Magic Kingdom
  2. Tomorrowland People Mover. Location: Magic Kingdom
  3. It’s A Small World. Location: Magic Kingdom
  4. Journey of the Little Mermaid. Location: Magic Kingdom
  5. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Location: Magic Kingdom
  6. Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Location: Magic Kingdom
  7. Prince Charming Regal Carousel.  Location: Magic Kingdom
  8. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.  Location: Magic Kingdom
  9. Kilimanjaro Safaris. Location: Animal Kingdom
  10. Na’vi River Journey. Location: Animal Kingdom
  11. Journey into the Imagination with Figment. Location: Epcot
  12. The Seas with Nemo and Friends.  Location: Epcot
  13. Toy Story Midway Mania. Location: Hollywood Studios

Of course, these are our favorite! When it comes to picking parks, we often opt for Magic Kingdom first because as you can see, the list is long for littles. Our second favorite park to take the kids is Animal Kingdom. While the list above isn't as long, there are so many attractions that aren't rides that we love at that park.

There are plenty of other rides at Disney World for toddlers, which your toddler might love, but that aren’t necessarily a safe bet. Pirates of the Caribbean is a good example – no height requirement, but some toddlers may not like the darkness of the line experience, before they even get to the ride. It is often a ride that also gets backed up or paused in dark seas, cannon ball flying scenes (or something similar), and you may find yourself with a scared toddlers stuck in a boat with no where to go.

Our best advice is that you know your toddler(s). Do your research on the rides beforehand so you know what to expect and, if you’re unsure about a ride, leave it until later in the trip when you’ll have had a chance to see their reactions to the ones we consider in the 'safe zone'.

xoxo, Heather
