I know it has been said before, but if you feel like time is flying by now... have a kid. It seems as if Ollie just arrived, but at the same time, I feel like he's been a part of our little family forever.
One of the things that I hold dear to my heart is recording moments. In high schooler, I was a scrapbooker. In college, I carried around a digital camera in my purse constantly. Now that I'm a mom, I just do not want to miss any moment. It has become increasing apparent that keeping track of all of these moments is hard. Super hard.
I started the day Ollie was born snapping a photo each day and writing a brief note about our time together at our nightly feedings. As the weeks grew into months, I missed a day or two but I stayed fairly consistent with recording each and every moment. And now... well, I just check and the last time I recorded something was August 31st. Obviously, I am not a winner at this high standard I placed on myself.
Thankful, I found Milestone photo cards. Milestone is a company that makes sets of photo cards to capture and remember special moments that make you smile. The idea came from a Dutch momma, Gemma Broekhuis, who wanted to capture the first time her son, Mikkel, rolled over. She wrote a card, added the date, and took a picture of her son with it. She did the same when he slept through the night, crawled, ate his first solid food, etc. and then turned it into a business.
It is so easy to grab one of these cards to help capture the key moments of Oliver's life and I just love how they continue to build their product line online so that I can easily print one out and snap a picture!
