Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (EXPLORED!!)

Christmas music is really important to me. It provides such a warmth and comfort that typically I roll it out in my house around... Christmas in July. I remember in high school, my friends would force me to wait until after the homecoming dance (usually the second weekend in October) before I would pull out all of my Christmas CDs and holiday songs. I know it is not typical for a person to have over 1,000 Christmas songs in their iTunes library or a massive playlist on Spotify, but I do. I take a lot of joy in it and it is something that is really important to me.

I wanted to take some time this morning to share my favorite Christmas songs.

The Bird and The Bee - Carol of the Bells
David Crowder Band - Go, Tell It On the Mountain
Eddie Kirkland - Everything Changed
for King & Country - Baby Boy
The Ravonettes - The Christmas Song
Relient K - I Celebrate the Day
Ron Sexsmith - Maybe This Christmas
TobyMac - Christmas This Year
Beach Boys - The Man with All the Toys
Joy Electric - Lollipop Parade
N'Sync - Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
Owl City - Peppermint Winter
Straight No Chaser - O Holy Night

Over the years, my most go-to Christmas CD has been the 3rd mix of The O.C., Have a Very Merry Chrismukkah since the album debuted in 2004. However, the past few years I have picked up songs like Relient K's and Eddit Kirkland's and really used those lyrics to help me reflect on the meaning of Christmas and the fact that a young teen, who had saved herself for marriage, a virgin, was poor yet not frightened... and having a baby. Those two songs specifically have been a great blessing in my life.

I feel that Songza , a popular music app, has made one of the best Christmas mixes on the streaming sites this year: Jesus is the Reason: Christian Rock Christmas This station has provided me almost 100% of my tunes this season!

What are some of your favorite Christmas songs?
