We are all about organization over here in the Bahorich home. With two toddlers with very different interests, my goal is for every toy to have a “home”. Why you may ask? Primarily because I loath the “I can’t find…” conversation. If everything doesn't have a "home", I occasionally find myself in the 30-minute search for a specific race car or doll because it grew legs and found itself wherever. I learned fast as a parent that what lived downstairs in the basement needed to stay downstairs and the same was true with our upstairs play area. It also allows us to have some permanent toy rotation (but we simple rotate rooms) as well as it limits me from having to walk up and down the stairs grabbing a toy from a dark "scary" room that the kids will not explore by themselves.
We snagged the best toy storage organizer from Delta Children last Christmas as Ollie's toy were getting bigger, and this past winter, I had the opportunity to receive a similar one that is themed Mickey. If you know me personally, we are a Disney bunch! We love frequenting the Disney parks and I was ecstatic to learn that this organizer came with a toddler-sized table for the kids as well!
The organizer itself comes with one large bin at the bottom, two medium sized bins in the middle, and three small bins at the very top. Each bin can be removed which makes keeping everything organized a breeze. We opted to keep this organizer solely Ollie’s toy bin so that he knows exactly where his toys are in our basement play area. So if he wants to play with his LEGOs or his new Batman motorcycles or his beloved Cars mini racers, he can simply grab the bin with all of his specific toys and put it back once he’s done.
The table is super nice to have as well! We have already had many evening "picnic" dinners and afternoon snacks on the table and it has held up really nice. It warms my heart to see the kids share a treat or Lillie use it with her baby dolls. It's so nice to have both pieces match and it's really starting to round out this space in our basement.
