goals with grace :: december

Monday's Aren't Always Bad When You Have Coffee =)

December came in today like a roar of a lion. The temperature dropped from yesterday afternoon to this morning over fifty degrees!! This morning I was awaken by ice and school cancellations and road closures.

Last month I did just okay. I read a little -- mainly blogs and devotionals and scripture -- less books like I would have liked to. That's okay though. My "one hour of no screen time" was poor. All of my reading is on a screen! How silly of me. I realized this on day two of November. Silly, silly, silly.

Date nights were strong and healthy for both of us; workouts were easier at times than others. But that's the whole point of goals with grace. To aim for improvement, to better myself and become more intentional, but not to beat up on myself when life gets in the way.

This month I am setting some goals again to give myself something to aspire to. To reach for. A destination, a place, and reason to become intentional, relational, and situational. And again, I will give myself grace. My personality is to reach high, keep busy, and be very hard on myself; however, the last few months I have been in such a pause in a lot of things in my life. Anticipating change, looking for the new. Not necessarily focusing on the now much. This month I want to push myself with all of the other crazy holiday, hectic moving houses days. To make it memorable. To focus on what's in front of me right now.

  • Have a girl's night out
  • Invest in the city
  • Experience advent with She Reads Truth
  • Continue one holiday tradition
  • Discover one new holiday tradition

What are your plans for this Christmas season? I would love to hear your goals!

    Making it memorable and focusing on what's in front of you sounds like advice I need to hear right now! This season can get crazy busy, and sometimes it's hard to appreciate all the little moments that make it really special! I hope your December is wonderful and that you are able to strive towards the goals on your list!
