It does not feel like March. There's snow on the ground. Lots of snow. Seven inches on March 1st. Crazy.
Work has been super busy for the both of us. Like the crazy busy that you cannot determine which way is up or down and you feel so exhausted from the day that your brain turns into mush sometime during dinner and bedtime creeps in shortly after that. It has been a rough start at being intentional. But I know that the snow will soon melt and my flip-flop days are nearing. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.
I feel as if our life is moving out of a slow season. Our winter was harsh on us. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. And with all of that, we spent time in sadness and grieving and struggle. But with the seven inches of snow that brought us March, it sort of felt like a blanket of renew. The miles and miles of white fluffiness looked so much like a clean slate. And as it melts this week, it is melting some of the hopelessness that we have been feeling away as well. We still have had a few moments of weakness, of sadness -- but it is starting to feel as if life has been given back to us. A fresh start. God is so good.
For the month of March, I really thought about my goals with grace, my intentions. I penciled in back in January that I wanted to work on "connecting" this month and as I think about that, it is funny how God plans things. We have been starting to go to a new church as we moved out of the city. We have new neighbors. We have a new community. Spending March to "connect" is just so timely and perfect. But I also want to continue working on some of the things that been slow and hard through these past few months and make March happen with intention and love and growth as well as community.
- Connect :: In general. With a community group. With our neighbors. With the blogging community.
- Catch up :: on SheReadsTruth Bible in a Year. I'm a few weeks behind and some days I miss. Thank goodness for God's grace and love. But I still want to read and learn more of God's glory. I want to catch up on my bible plan and on the lent study that I haven't even started yet. I long to make this part of my day however it happens. I just have to be intentional.
- Read :: I had one book picked out for January (90% done). February's books... (one started, one not). And then another one for March... If I can just finish one, I will be overjoyed.
- Rest :: We have a mini-vacation planned for next week. Yah! My hopes and prayers are that it will be a moment of rest and renewal from our weariness.
- Renew :: Eat healthier. Take my vitamins. Find my lost ambition to go to the gym.
Dang. Here is to a great March! Of connecting in my community, my passions, my health, and our Lord.
Do you have any Goals with Grace for this month?
I'm doing the SheReadsTruth Bible in a year plan too!
And I'm also a few days behind... 🙂
Have fun on your mini vacation!
Where are you going?!
