March was crazier than expect. But in a super good way. We moved into our house and now have more mad skills as painters than we ever knew we had. Our days have been consumed with our church plant, missional community, DNA groups, painting, standing in line at Home Depot, Lowe's, and Menards, ripping up flooring, mowing the grass, unpacking, furniture shopping, and traveling.
It has been so good. We're still figuring this whole house owning thing out, and that's okay. We're still trying to determine paint colors and flooring samples and home decor. And it's still new enough that it is exciting. Way too exciting.
March was a month that we wanted to spend time connecting. Plugging into a church locally near our new house. Getting in community with our neighbors and friends and interests. I would have to say our efforts were successful. We have been distant supporters of a local church plant long before they were having gatherings, and after much prayer and discussion, my husband and I committed to jumping in head first. It was in our community and we feel such at home. Yesterday, I looked around at the church's first membership class and was in awe by how many of my friends, old and new, were now such a family. Our family. It is a huge blessing to us.
I also spent a great bit of time with connecting with the blogging community. And I finally joined the Influence Network! I am so excited with what God plans on doing with my life through that community and the blessings that it will provide.
Some of my other goals were not as "successful", but it is such a reminder that we are not failures when we do not meet our goals. Sometimes we take on too much, and sometimes we do not know what will fill our time. As long as they are in line with our values, and our intentions, we have to give ourselves grace in those goals we do not meet.
"Catching up" was not entirely meet. Instead of focusing on the SheReadsTruth Bible in a Year, my husband and I started a reading plan together that he suggested. It has really provided a time for us to intentional talk through the Bible together every day. Also, my DNA group started a study through 1 Peter that has really refocused my studies on a weekly basis.
I started the month out strong with my general reading. January's book is finished -- kind of, I guessed I just skimmed through it. February books was shelved, as the more I read, the more I realized that it was just as much as an activity book as a reading book. One that I want to give the time to when I really can. March's book was started well. And since vacation, I have really picked it up...
Oh, and I made it to the gym twice...that's good, right?
I wanna burn bright like a star in the night;
Fall, fall, and surrender it all;
Sing awhile; and believe like a child;
I just want to be your reflection...
